2006 Meetings of North American Maple Syrup Council and International Maple Syrup Institute Held Oct 18-21

Representatives from maple producing states and provinces in North America gathered in Green Bay, Wisconsin October 18-21 for the 2006 joint meetings of the North American Maple Syrup Council and the International Maple Syrup Institute.

Dave Hamilton from New Castle IN served as Indiana's voting delegate for the business sessions with Garry Sink as alternate.

Some 500 producers, academic researchers and industry representatives are expected to attend the sessions that will include field trips, technical presentations and commercial exhibitors related to the production and marketing of maple syrup.

A number of other Hoosier maple syrup producers also attended the meetings.

In 2007, the Indiana Maple Syrup Association will jointly host the international meetings with the Ohio Maple Producers Association in Akron Ohio. More information about that gathering will be forthcoming.
